By utilizing diverters within a cathode design, Angstrom Sciences disrupts the laminar flow of the cooling circuit. This creates turbulent flow which distributes cooling evenly and efficiently across the cathode body, preventing target cracking due to thermal deviation and minimizing the chance of “hot spots,” which can cause grain boundary dissociation.
